Aeromexico is set to become one of the first airlines to adopt Honeywell Aerospace's new runway safety technology, SURF-A. The system will provide pilots with real-time aural and visual alerts when they are on a trajectory to collide with another aircraft on the runway.

SURF-A uses GPS data, ADS-B equipment, and advanced software analytics to pinpoint potential hazards and issue warnings at approximately 30 and 15 seconds before impact. This will give pilots the time needed to take corrective action and avoid accidents.

Aeromexico plans to install SURF-A across its entire fleet of over 100 Boeing 737 NG and MAX aircraft, making it the launch customer for this technology. The airline's commitment to safety is reflected in its decision to adopt innovative solutions like SURF-A.
