African CEOs Lead Charge in AI Adoption Optimism
African CEOs are more optimistic about AI adoption than their global counterparts, viewing it as an opportunity to transform their businesses rather than a disruptor. According to Cisco's latest study, 67% of surveyed CEOs worry they're underinvesting in AI, up from 57% last year.
The study, which polled 2,500 CEOs across 23 countries, found that while most leaders expect humans and AI to work side by side, significant challenges remain. Infrastructure, data, and security are the top barriers to scaling AI adoption.
CEOs in Africa, however, are embracing AI with enthusiasm, seeing it as a game-changer for their industries. "AI is the game changer in every industry that is planning to prosper," one African CEO declared.
Cisco's MD for Africa, Ossama Eldeeb, noted that optimism alone won't close the gap. He emphasized the importance of building secure, AI-ready foundations to turn optimism into results.
