Advertising agencies are profiting from fossil fuel giants despite claiming green credentials. The 'F-List' report by Clean Creatives found 1,321 contracts between fossil fuel companies and advertising agencies in 2025 and 2026.

Omnicon had the highest number of holding-company contracts at 118, followed by WPP with 88 contracts. Publicis recorded 34 contracts, while Dentsu had 24.

Clean Creatives identified relationships between fossil fuel companies and agencies such as BP, Chevron, Equinor, ExxonMobil, Shell, and Saudi Aramco. The report also found that 497 of the 1,321 contracts were newly identified in the 2026 research.

According to Nayantara Dutta, head of research at Clean Creatives, 'creative work has continued to follow the same themes across different global markets, rather than meaningfully responding to the climate crisis.'
