AgenticOps Gains Momentum as Enterprises Seek Greater Autonomy in Network Operations

Cisco's recent research study shows that enterprises are rapidly adopting AgenticOps, an agent-driven approach to network operations. According to the report, over half of respondents have already moved to agentic AI systems that act in production today.

The study found that 95% of enterprises say their existing AIOps tools can't keep up with the complexity of modern networks. With an average of 4,100 monitoring alerts and events generated daily, organizations need a more efficient way to manage network operations.

The shift towards AgenticOps is driven by the need for greater autonomy and flexibility in network operations. Over four-fifths of respondents expect to reach an AI-led operating model within 12 months, with nearly three-quarters willing to grant agentic AI significant autonomy in NetOps.

However, organizations are also concerned about trust and visibility in AgenticOps. Two-thirds require detailed explainability for agent-driven actions, and over eight-six percent say a single integrated platform is the most effective path forward.
