AgenticOps Revolution: AI Agents Take Over Network Operations

Cisco has released research on AgenticOps, a new paradigm in network operations where AI agents take on more responsibility. According to the study, over 95% of enterprises say their existing AIOps tools can't keep up with the complexity and pace of modern networks. In fact, manually clearing the daily network alert backlog would require around 100 IT specialists.

The report shows that almost half of network alerts are closed without investigation, and a similar number of respondents report spending time investigating false positives. This is why many organizations have moved to AgenticOps, where AI agents can take action in production today. Currently, over 50% of companies are using agentic AI in their networks.

The research also highlights the importance of trust when implementing and scaling AI. Organizations require detailed explainability for agent-driven actions, with two-thirds demanding this level of transparency. Moreover, nearly all respondents believe that a single integrated platform is the most effective path forward for AgenticOps.
