Aguilar Launches Campaign to Reassure Voters on Mail-Ballot Security
Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar has launched an expanded campaign to reassure voters that the state's mail-ballot system remains secure and unchanged for the midterm elections.
The effort follows a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision blocking the Trump administration from imposing new federal requirements on mail ballots, including proposed recipient-list and envelope-barcode rules.
Aguilar emphasized that Nevada will continue to run elections as it always has, with text-message outreach scheduled to begin this week and commercials partnering with the Nevada Broadcasters Association as part of a broader campaign.
The secretary of state's office is reassuring voters that their ballots are secure and safe, citing recent upgrades such as expanded new ballot-marking devices statewide for the June primary. These devices make elections more efficient and secure by reducing the number of flash drives at each polling location from 50 to three or four.
