AI Boom Fuels Record Growth, but Infrastructure Spending Rises to Meet Demand
The latest financial results from Nvidia, Microsoft, and Micron show that the AI boom is translating into extraordinary growth for these tech giants. Their revenue has skyrocketed, with Nvidia's fiscal second-quarter revenue reaching $96.2 billion, a 106% year-over-year increase.
Microsoft reported $90.0 billion in revenue for its fiscal fourth quarter ended June 30, up 18% year-over-year. Azure and other cloud services revenue rose 43%, while Microsoft said its annual Azure revenue surpassed $100 billion for the first time.
Micron's fiscal fourth-quarter revenue reached $54.23 billion, up from $11.32 billion a year earlier, with GAAP net income jumping to $37.70 billion from $3.20 billion, representing year-over-year increases of about 379% in revenue and 1,077% in net income.
The AI boom has also extended to the stock market, with Nvidia shares up over 20% in 2026 through September 25, Micron's stock having more than tripled by September 30, and Microsoft shares gaining 36.4% in the third quarter.
