AI-Driven Security Demand to Accelerate into Revenue by 2027
The cybersecurity landscape is undergoing a significant transformation due to the increasing adoption of artificial intelligence (AI). According to JPMorgan's research, AI-driven incremental security spending could reach a total addressable market (TAM) of over $430 billion in three years. This growth is driven by the expanding threat surface and the need for enterprises to invest in automated detection and real-time response capabilities.
The report highlights the shrinking vulnerability exploitation window, which has compressed from 63 days in 2018 to negative 7 days in 2025. This means that attackers can now weaponize vulnerabilities before patches are even released. Furthermore, generative AI has elevated the degree of attack automation, with models like Anthropic's able to autonomously discover zero-day vulnerabilities and develop working exploits.
The expansion of AI infrastructure is also generating new security demand, particularly in areas such as firewalls, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), data security, and air-gapped deployments. As enterprises require more control over their AI data and models, cybersecurity and data governance are becoming inseparable components of AI infrastructure buildout.
JPMorgan expects that the true growth in AI security spending may not yet be fully reflected in this year's financial results due to lengthy sales cycles and the evaluation stage of many projects. However, as AI moves from experimentation and pilot programs into enterprise production environments, the importance of security budgets is likely to continue rising.
