AI Oversight at Scale: Splunk Takes a Lead on Trust in AI

Splunk recently held its annual .conf26 conference in Denver, where trust in AI at scale was a major theme. Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer of Cisco, identified four key changes driving this discussion.

The first change is the shift from training to inference, with 60% of global computing capacity now being consumed by inference. This means that organisations are no longer just building models, but also relying on them for real-time decision-making.

The second change is the rise of AI agents as a new workforce. These agents will soon be widely distributed across devices, rooms, and workflows, both in the cloud and on-premises.

Splunk announced additional agentic SOC capabilities at .conf26, expanding its Agentic SOC Workforce with skills for detection, investigation, response, and governance. This aims to help teams automate parts of their defence, block attacks at their source, and address critical exposure as it changes.
