AI-Powered Cybersecurity Poised for Rapid Growth, Experts Say

Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang recently stated that AI-powered cybersecurity is poised for significant growth. According to him, firms will increasingly use technology to identify software vulnerabilities and defend against cyberattacks.

This trend benefits companies like Palo Alto Networks (PANW) and IBM (IBM), which are well-positioned to take advantage of it. Both firms have been investing heavily in AI technologies, including machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI.

Palo Alto's proprietary AI system, Precision AI, has incorporated machine learning for over a decade, while the company is also using deep learning techniques to identify security threats. Additionally, its acquisition of CyberArk (now rebranded as Idira) provides it with identity security tools that excel at protecting AI agents.

IBM's Lightwell product utilizes a generative AI-powered remediation engine to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in software dependencies. The company has invested $5 billion and deployed over 20,000 engineers to develop the product, which is expected to become a major winner for IBM.
