AI-Powered Networks Revolutionize Enterprise Operations
The technology industry is witnessing a significant shift towards AI-powered network operations and service management. Equinix, a leading provider of interconnection services, has launched Fabric One, a managed connectivity service that leverages AI to streamline networking processes. This new offering enables customers to specify their requirements through various means, including portals, APIs, automation workflows, agents, or natural-language prompts.
According to Chris Audie, Chief Product Officer at Equinix, traditional network operations have become outdated in the era of distributed AI. He stated that 'For decades, enterprise networks have been built one connection at a time for each partner and provider they depend on.' Fabric One aims to address this complexity by automatically managing connectivity across distributed architectures based on customer intent.
Cisco ThousandEyes has also made significant strides in network intelligence integration with AI-agent workflows. Its Model Context Protocol server can bring network intelligence into AI-agent workflows, enabling faster incident resolution and root-cause analysis.
