Air Force Awards Boeing $131 Billion Contract for F-15 Production and Sustainment
The U.S. Air Force has awarded Boeing a massive $131.23 billion contract to produce and maintain F-15 fighter jets for both domestic and international customers through 2037. The deal, named F-15 Eagle Crest, was announced on August 24 and allows the Air Force to place orders incrementally rather than committing to a fixed aircraft quantity upfront.
The contract consolidates various aspects of F-15 management into a single agreement, encompassing new production, upgrades, retrofits, sustainment, and depot support for the U.S. Air Force, Air National Guard, and foreign entities.
Notably, the deal includes provisions for establishing organic depot maintenance, enabling Air Force facilities to carry out heavy overhauls independently of Boeing.
