Air Force One Delayed Again as Boeing Struggles with Complex Requirements
Boeing's two new Air Force One aircraft are still under development, and their delivery has been pushed back to mid-2028 for the first plane and mid-2029 for the second.
The original deadline was the end of 2024, but Boeing is struggling to meet the complex requirements of these bespoke aircraft, which include secure communications, defensive systems, and specialized interiors.
The project has been plagued by supplier problems, including the collapse of GDC Technics, a critical interior work contractor that Boeing terminated in 2021 due to performance delays.
