Air Force Vet Trades Bombs for Boeing

Wichita resident Duane Loeck spent two decades in the Air Force as a B-52 expert, before transitioning to a career at Boeing.

Loeck joined the Air Force in 1966 after taking advice from his high school principal. He was sent to tech school at Lowry Air Force Base, where he trained to be a bombing and navigation technician specializing in the B-52.

'The bombing system that I worked on had all vacuum tubes,' Loeck said. 'It was a pretty complex system.'
