Air France Abandons Denver-Paris Route Amid Competition from United
Air France is ending its flights from Denver International Airport (DEN) to Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG), just five years after they began in July 2021. The decision comes after United Airlines announced it would start flying the route next year, with daily flights using a Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
Air France initially operated four weekly departures during the summer months until 2024, when it returned to DEN and operated through the winter on a year-round basis. However, in October 2025, the airline switched back to a seasonal operation and reduced its frequency to three weekly flights using a larger Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.
The decision to end the route was likely due to low yields from less premium travel, as evidenced by the switch to a more economy-heavy aircraft. Despite this, Air France's DEN operation had a load factor of 83.2% in the past year, slightly lower than its average US result of 85.7%. The airline will cease operations on October 10, just two months before United is set to launch its daily flights.
