Air India has taken delivery of its third retrofitted Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, completing a nose-to-tail cabin transformation at Boeing's facility in California. The aircraft, VT-NAC, features private Business Class suites, a larger Premium Economy cabin, and refreshed Economy Class seats equipped with modern 4K screens.

This latest arrival is part of Air India's ongoing $400-million fleet modernisation programme, announced after the Tata Group took over the carrier in April 2026. The airline had previously welcomed two retrofitted Boeing 787-8s, VT-ANT and VT-ANP, with upgraded cabin interiors.

With the arrival of VT-NAC, Air India now has three retrofitted Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners in service as it continues to modernise its fleet. The airline plans to upgrade more than 300 weekly flights to destinations across the UK, Europe, and Australia before extending the retrofit to its legacy Boeing 777-300ER fleet.
