Airbus Keeps Delivery Lead Over Boeing Midway Through 2026
July was a relatively quiet month for Airbus, with the company delivering 67 aircraft to 39 customers. This is down from June's 89 deliveries and May's 81. However, despite this dip, Airbus remains in the lead over Boeing halfway through 2026.
The running total tells the real story. Airbus has now delivered 418 jets so far this year, compared to 373 at the same point in 2025. Boeing, which is enjoying its strongest run since 2018, sits at approximately 365 deliveries through July.
Airbus's CEO Guillaume Faury credits the company's steady engine supplies for the increased deliveries. The narrowbodies are doing the heavy lifting, with IndiGo taking seven more A320neo-family aircraft in July and China Southern four. American Airlines also took three A321neos, while Emirates collected three widebody A350-900s.
Airbus added 204 gross orders in July, led by a commitment from SMBC Aviation Capital for 100 A320neo-family jets. The company is holding firm to its full-year target of around 870 aircraft, which implies a strong second-half push.
