Airbus Keeps Its Lead Over Boeing Mid-Year Delivery Count

Despite a quieter July than usual, Airbus maintained its lead over Boeing in the delivery race midway through 2026. The European planemaker handed over 67 aircraft to 39 customers, a decrease from the previous two months but still a healthy figure for an industry navigating supply-chain issues and engine shortages.

The running total tells the real story: Airbus has delivered 418 jets so far this year, surpassing last year's pace at the same point. Boeing, enjoying its strongest run since 2018, trails behind with approximately 365 deliveries through July.

Chief Executive Guillaume Faury attributed the increase to steadier engine supplies, which have allowed Airbus to ramp up production by 15% compared to the first half of 2025. The narrowbody aircraft, particularly the A320neo family, are driving this growth with notable orders from IndiGo and China Southern.
