Airlines Can Now Update 737 Software Remotely Without Downtime Thanks to Teledyne

Teledyne Controls has launched its GroundLink Edge Computing Platform (ECP), an open onboard edge computing environment that allows airlines to deploy, update and scale software applications across their fleet remotely without aircraft downtime. The platform was certified by the FAA for use on Boeing 737 aircraft series.

ECP shifts beyond traditional standalone avionics and Aircraft Interface Device architectures, integrating 5G cellular, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and ARINC 429/717 interfaces with an ARINC 679- and OCI-compliant application server. This allows operators to remotely deploy and manage applications developed internally, by Teledyne or by certified third parties.
