AI's True Potential Hinges on Shifting from Efficiency to Innovation
The widespread adoption of AI in business has led to operational improvements and cost savings, but companies are missing out on its full potential. According to a report by the IBM Institute for Business Value, most organizations use AI to speed up existing processes, rather than fundamentally transforming their operations.
This approach is reflected in the current allocation of AI spending, with 47% dedicated to efficiency gains and only 53% focused on innovation. However, executives expect this figure to shift significantly by 2030, with 62% devoted to product, service, and business model innovation.
The key to unlocking AI's true potential lies in the EASY approach: eliminate unnecessary work, automate redesigned processes, standardize workflows, and reinvest gains into future growth. This requires a fundamental examination of existing processes and a willingness to challenge established habits.
