Akasa Air Expands Fleet with 33rd Aircraft Fueled by Women Power

Akasa Air continues to expand its fleet with the addition of its 33rd aircraft, a Boeing 737 MAX 8-200. The new plane was flown from Seattle to Bengaluru by an all-women pilot crew, consisting of Captain Svetlana Pereira and First Officer Karen Noronha.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 features next-generation Safran Z200 seats, designed for enhanced comfort with ergonomic back support, plush cushioning, and integrated USB-C and USB-A charging ports. The aircraft also boasts fuel-efficient CFM LEAP-1B engines that reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Akasa Air has placed a firm order for 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, of which 193 are scheduled for delivery over the next six years to support India's growing travel demand. With its rapid growth in the Indian aviation sector, Akasa Air aims to become one of the top 30 airlines by the end of the decade.
