Akasa Air Eyes Massive 737 Max Order from Boeing
Boeing Co.'s stock price rose nearly 1% on Friday as industrial stocks outperformed the broader market. The S&P 500 gained 0.08%, while the Nasdaq was little changed.
Akasa Air, an Indian carrier, is in talks to order more than 200 Boeing 737 Max jets. This would be worth billions of dollars and further strengthen Boeing's position in India's fast-growing aviation market. Akasa already has 183 unfilled orders for the same aircraft model.
The proposed deal could come as early as 2027, but a decision has not been made yet. The talks remain preliminary and may not result in a deal. A 'death cross' technical indicator is still bearish for Boeing's stock price, suggesting that recent gains have yet to develop stronger momentum.
