Akasa Assures Safety Despite Boeing 737 MAX Software Issue
Akasa Air has assured its passengers that there is no impact on safety following a software issue identified by Boeing in some of its 737 MAX aircraft. The airline said it is closely coordinating with Boeing to address the issue.
Boeing had flagged a potential problem where the automated flight guidance system could disengage after a missed landing approach, affecting certain 737 MAX aircraft. This could occur if the subsequent approach path differs from the one originally planned.
As a precautionary measure, Boeing has issued an advisory to operators to reset the system following a missed approach. The company's engineers are working on a software update to permanently address the issue.
