Aladdin Sequel Revived as Disney Seeks New Writers

Disney's live-action Aladdin sequel has reportedly returned to development after years of limbo. The studio is searching for new writers to tackle the project, which has been in the works since the 2019 film.

Mena Massoud, who played Aladdin in the original, previously stated that he didn't have any concrete information about the sequel's status due to the SAG-AFTRA and Writers Guild of America strikes. He admitted that 'life just goes on' after years of waiting since making the first movie.

The live-action remake of Aladdin earned approximately $1.054 billion worldwide, including over $355 million in North America. The film currently has a 6.9/10 rating on IMDb and 94% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, despite receiving 57% from critics.
