Alaska Air Awaits 737 MAX 10 Certification Amid Tight Timeline

Alaska Air is expecting Boeing's 737 MAX 10 to receive certification from the Federal Aviation Administration by the end of September. This timeline is crucial for the airline, as it plans to take delivery of its first aircraft next spring and put the MAX 10 into passenger service between April and mid-May.

Chief Operating Officer Jason Berry spoke with Reuters, stating that any delay in certification could threaten the airline's plans. He noted that the single-aisle jet is already several years behind schedule, making a timely certification essential for Alaska Air.

The airline must still certify its heads-up display for pilots after receiving the 737 MAX 10 from Boeing. This process will take a few months, according to Berry.
