Alaska Airlines Flight Diverted After Passengers Make Threats Against Crew

An Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-890 flight from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Seattle-Tacoma Airport (SEA) was forced into a lockdown protocol on August 10, 2026, after passengers made verbal threats against the flight crew.

The pilots called for law enforcement support and informed the tower of their intent to seal the reinforced flight deck door to prevent access to the cockpit. The plane's engines were shut down, and the parking brake was set as a precautionary measure.

Airport authorities removed two passengers who allegedly made threats against the crew, but no credible threat was found by local law enforcement.
