Alexa Now Alerts Users to Potential Purchases with New 'Update Me When' Feature
Amazon has introduced a new feature for its Alexa shopping assistant called 'Update Me When,' which sends users personalized notifications when something new or relevant happens that could lead to a purchase.
The feature is designed to anticipate when something might prompt a user to make a purchase, before they even think to ask. For example, users can track when their favorite brand launches a new product line, when a new season of their favorite TV show drops, or when an artist they like announces a concert tour.
Amazon is also highlighting other AI-powered shopping features, including price-tracking and personalized deal suggestions. The retailer has been using Alexa to source deals, create shopping guides, build carts with items from past purchases, track product pricing history, and more.
