Ally Financial Inc., a major financial services company, has invested $2.65 million in The Travelers Companies, Inc., an insurance provider.

The investment was made through the purchase of approximately 12,000 shares of TRV stock in the second quarter, according to Ally's most recent filing with the SEC.

This is not the first time Ally has invested in TRV; several other large investors have also recently increased their positions in the company.
