Boeing Stock Slides on Labor Warning, Second-Quarter Rebound Fades
Boeing stock ended August 21, 2026 at $214.20 in New York trading, down 7.54 percent over the prior week and leaving the company with a market capitalization of $169.3 billion.
The recent labor warning and second-quarter rebound have sent mixed signals to investors. Labor risk remains visible as Boeing engineers rejected a proposed contract and approved strike action, according to Aerospace Daily and Defense Report on August 24, 2026.
Professional and technical units of SPEEA also rejected the company's four-year contract proposal on August 23, 2026, with 64.3 percent and 71.9 percent voting against it, respectively.
The second-quarter recovery was a bright spot for Boeing, with revenue up 8 percent year over year to $24.56 billion and free cash flow reaching $631 million after a year-earlier shortfall of $831 million.
