Alphabet, the parent company of Google, is making a massive investment in Europe's artificial intelligence infrastructure. The tech giant has announced plans to spend a record $15.1 billion on A.I. infrastructure in Finland, its largest-ever investment in a European country.

The investment will be used to build data centres and supporting investments related to energy. Alphabet has signed a 22-year power purchase agreement with Finnish energy company Fortum (HEL: FORTUM), which saw its stock rise by 13% on the news.

Finland has emerged as a key location for data centres, thanks to its available land, ample water resources, and advanced power grid. This investment will run through 2028 and is expected to bring significant economic benefits to the region.
