Amazon's stock price dropped by over 1% to around $254 on Wednesday following reports that the e-commerce giant has begun selling its first-ever sterling bonds.

The company is expected to raise at least £3 billion (approximately $4.1 billion) from a four-part deal, marking its fourth bond sale outside of the US this year.

This move comes as Amazon continues to invest heavily in its AI infrastructure, with a projected fiscal 2026 capital spending of $220 billion, up 10% from last year's total.

The new bond offerings have maturities ranging from three to 19 years and are being priced above UK gilts, with the 19-year offering sold at about 110 basis points over British government bonds.
