Alphabet Faces Class Action Lawsuit Over Gemini 3.5 Pro Delays
A class action lawsuit has been filed against Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOGL; GOOG) on behalf of investors who acquired the company’s securities between May 19, 2026, and July 16, 2026. The lawsuit alleges that Alphabet failed to disclose significant issues with its Gemini 3.5 Pro AI model, including disappointing training results and a significant delay in its launch.
The lawsuit highlights that on July 16, 2026, Bloomberg reported Google was “months behind schedule” on delivering Gemini 3.5 Pro due to ongoing coding efforts. The report noted that an update to the training data yielded disappointing results, leading to a $16.46 per share decline in Alphabet’s stock price, or approximately 4.4%, from $370.92 to $354.46.
On September 30, 2026, Google announced the release of Gemini 4 Argon, which had already been rolled out to trusted cyber defenders through its Fairwind Program. Reuters reported that Google no longer plans to release Gemini 3.5 Pro, further supporting the allegations in the lawsuit.
Investors who suffered losses are encouraged to contact Kirby McInerney LLP by December 1, 2026, to discuss their rights or interests in the securities fraud class action. The law firm emphasizes that investors with the largest financial losses during the class period are typically appointed as lead plaintiffs, giving them influence over case strategy and settlement decisions.
