Alphabet Stock Plummets Despite Launch of Powerful AI Model
Alphabet's stock price is declining by 2% to $338.85 as investors seem unimpressed by the launch of its frontier AI model, Gemini 4 Argon.
The model, which is aimed at enterprise work and can automatically scan codebases for vulnerabilities, has not yet generated revenue for Alphabet.
According to Google, the initial rollout of Argon will be restricted to a limited group of trusted cybersecurity specialists through its Fairwind Program, with enterprise users, developers, and subscribers set to follow once further safety safeguards are in place.
The developer interface price of $2 per million input tokens gives an early marker for how Alphabet may charge for Argon, but until enterprise customers gain access, the revenue question remains open.
