Amazon Air Boeing 767 Crashes in Miami After Go-Around Attempt
A preliminary report by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has shed light on the fatal Amazon Air overrun in Miami last month. The Boeing 767 involved, Flight 7598, crossed the threshold at 177 knots and touched down about 3,750ft beyond it.
Investigators found that the first officer repeatedly cautioned that the aircraft was too fast during the approach. Despite this, the crew attempted a go-around late in the landing roll, which ultimately failed.
The NTSB has not determined the probable cause of the accident, and its findings remain preliminary. The investigation is ongoing, with multiple specialist groups examining various aspects of the incident.
