A devastating aircraft crash occurred on September 6 at Miami International Airport (MIA), resulting in the deaths of five people and injuring five others. The incident involved an Amazon Air Boeing 767-300F, which overran the runway and struck multiple vehicles. The plane had arrived from Puerto Rico, carrying cargo on behalf of Amazon.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop following the incident, affecting more than 160 flights that were canceled or delayed. Many flights were diverted to Orlando International Airport (MCO) during this time.

NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy has spoken out about the crash, emphasizing the need for operators to implement recommendations from this fatal incident and reiterating that 'one death is a tragedy.'
