Amazon Air's Sreenivasan Takes on Expanded Role in Middle-Mile Operations
Raoul Sreenivasan, an executive at Amazon Air, has taken on a new role that will see him oversee the company's middle-mile operations. The expanded position includes responsibility for Amazon Transportation Services, where he will be vice president.
The division covers the journey from the fulfillment center to a delivery station and is tasked with identifying the fastest and most convenient way to move packages to their final destination.
Sreenivasan's role now encompasses Amazon's global aviation network, North America surface transportation, trucking network, and sortation center operations.
The executive said in a social media post that the expansion of his role will bring together Amazon Air with ground transportation and sort center teams under one connected network, which he believes will be beneficial for customers and team members.
