Amazon and Target Clash in Early Holiday Spending Wars
Amazon and Target are going head-to-head in October with competing deal events aimed at capturing early holiday spending. Prime Big Deal Days will take place on October 6-7, offering millions of deals exclusively to Amazon Prime members. Over 1 million items will be available at their lowest prices so far this year, covering a wide range of categories including groceries, household essentials, beauty products, and electronics.
The event will feature new deal drops three times a day, with brands such as Sony, Tarte, adidas, Canon, Dove, LEGO, and Dyson participating. Amazon is also integrating Alexa for Shopping into the event, which can track price history, set deal alerts, and notify shoppers when products reach specified prices.
Target's competing event, Target Circle Deal Days, will run on the same dates, offering up to 40% off thousands of items across apparel, home décor, beauty, wellness, toys, and technology. Target Circle members will receive early access starting October 5, with limited-time incentives for consumers who join Target Circle or enroll in its paid Target Circle 360 membership around the event.
