Amazon has blocked Meta's AI shopping agent, Muse, from accessing its platform after just two weeks of operation. The move suggests that Amazon prioritizes long-term implications over short-term revenue gains.

Muse had risen to the top spot for free app downloads in Apple and Google stores, with Meta shares closing up over 11% on Monday. Amazon cited concerns over customer security and user experience as reasons for blocking Muse's access.

The company stated that agentic third-party applications like Muse should operate openly and respect service provider decisions. Amazon also likened its decision to how food delivery and travel-booking apps function in their industries.
