Amazon Blocks Meta's AI Shopping Agent Amid Security Concerns

Amazon has blocked Meta's AI shopping agent, Muse, from accessing its platform after it appeared to store customer credentials without permission.

This is not the first time Amazon has taken action against shopping agents; it previously sued Perplexity over its Comet browser and blocked similar agents from Google and OpenAI.

However, other companies such as Shopify, Walmart, and Sephora have welcomed Muse onto their platforms, with Shopify's shares jumping 7.3% on Monday after it allowed the agent to browse and checkout via Shop Pay.

Muse has been downloaded over 2.8 million times globally in its first 12 days, beating ChatGPT's downloads in the same timeframe in the US and Canada.
