Amazon Boosts UK Staff Pay by Up to 5.6% in Above-Inflation Rise
Amazon's UK frontline operation employees are set to receive an above-inflation pay rise, effective from September 27. The new minimum starting salary will be over £31,000 per year, with a minimum hourly pay of £15.10.
This represents an 80p per hour increase since last year and a 44% rise in minimum starting pay since 2022. In some locations, annual pay will even reach up to £33,488.
John Boumphrey, Amazon's UK country manager, said the pay increase reflects the company's appreciation for its frontline teams, who are 'the backbone of our business.'
The new benefits package includes a 10% discount on eligible groceries and everyday essentials on Amazon.co.uk, as well as private medical insurance, life insurance, income protection, subsidised meals, free Prime membership, and a company pension plan from day one.
