A new Amazon delivery station is set to open in Salisbury, Maryland, as part of the company's ongoing expansion efforts. According to an Amazon spokesperson, the facility will serve as a 'last-mile' location, sorting packages for final delivery. The site, located at 1842 Edward Taylor Road, will be similar to the one that opened in Seaford, Delaware in 2022.

When operational, the new facility is expected to generate over 100 direct-and-indirect jobs. This news comes as Amazon continues to invest in its logistics and delivery infrastructure across the United States.

The company's spokesperson, Sam Fisher, explained how the building fits into the delivery process: 'When a customer purchases an item on Amazon.com, that order typically begins at a fulfillment center, a large warehouse where products are stored, then moves to a sortation center, which routes packages to the nearest last-mile facility.'

An exact opening date for the new Amazon facility has yet to be announced.
