Amazon Cargo Jet Crash Devastates Miami Airport

A devastating cargo jet crash occurred at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon when an Amazon Boeing 767-300 freighter operated by 21 Air overshot Runway 30 during landing.

According to National Transportation Safety Board Chairwoman Jennifer Homenday, the aircraft left a path of 'utter devastation' as it plowed through vehicles and infrastructure, leaving the airport operating at reduced capacity until recovery operations are completed and investigators can safely access the plane.

The crash resulted in five deaths and at least five injured persons, three of them in critical condition. The aircraft struck navigational aids and equipment before slamming into a 2012 Ford Econoline van owned by Professional Ocean Services Corp., a contract cleaning company for airlines.

Homenday described the destruction as 'pretty extensive,' with debris from the airport, vehicles, and the aircraft itself scattered throughout the area.
