Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami Airport, Five Dead

A Boeing 767 cargo plane operated by Amazon Prime Air overran a Miami runway on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of five people and injuring five others. The aircraft, which was flying from Cincinnati to San Juan, Puerto Rico via Miami, overshot the runway by approximately 1,300ft.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has recovered the flight data and cockpit voice recorders from the plane, also known as black boxes. These devices are expected to provide crucial insights into what caused the cargo jet to travel beyond the normal touchdown zone.

According to NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy, the scene of the crash was 'utter devastation.' The cargo plane collided with a Ford van carrying seven people from a cleaning company and broke through a perimeter fence before striking a Toyota SUV outside the airport.
