An Amazon cargo plane crashed at Miami International Airport on September 6, 2026, after overshooting the runway by approximately 1,300 feet. The Boeing 767-300, operated by 21 Air as Prime Air Flight 7598, burst into flames and struck two vehicles, killing at least five people.

The accident occurred around 2 p.m. ET while the plane was landing from San Juan, Puerto Rico. The aircraft overran the runway and crashed through a perimeter fence, hitting a white Ford Econoline van owned by Professional Ocean Service Corp., which had seven people on board, as well as a Toyota Corolla Cross outside the airport.

The plane then slid through another fence that separated an area where Tesla robotaxis were stationed before stopping. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that Prime Air Flight 7598 overran the runway while landing around 2 p.m. ET after departing from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) chair Jennifer Homendy said investigators will look into the relationship between Amazon and 21 Air, as well as safety provisions in their contracts or policies.
