An Amazon Air cargo plane crashed at Miami International Airport on Labor Day weekend, killing five people and injuring five more. The Boeing 767-300 aircraft, operated by charter company 21 Air, overran the airport's diagonal runway and came to rest in a parking lot near an Amazon warehouse.

The crash occurred just before 14:00 local time (19:00 GMT) after departing from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) ordered all flights grounded as fire crews rushed to the scene.

Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said that rescue crews arrived within 'seconds' of the crash and were working to extricate those trapped under vehicles. Three of the injured are in critical condition, according to Miami Fire Chief Raied Jadallah.
