Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport

An Amazon cargo plane crashed at Miami International Airport on Sunday after overrunning runway 30. The incident occurred at 1:58 p.m., according to authorities.

At least five people were killed, and five others were injured in the crash. Three of those hospitalized are critical, while two have less severe injuries. A source with knowledge of the incident stated that two pilots were taken to Jackson South Hospital, and three others were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said in a statement that Air Flight 7598 overran the runway after landing at the airport around 2 p.m. ET on Sunday. The plane, a Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft, departed from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is launching an investigation into the crash. Amazon released a statement expressing their condolences to the families and loved ones of those affected by the incident.
