Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport

An Amazon cargo aircraft operated by 21 Air overran the runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon, resulting in multiple fatalities and damage to vehicles on a surrounding road.

The Boeing 767, which was flying from San Juan, Puerto Rico, landed on runway 30, a 9,000-foot-long strip.

According to the FAA, the plane overran the runway around 2 p.m. local time. The investigation is being led by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.

The aircraft was damaged, with heavy flames and smoke showing after it caught fire. More than 60 fire units responded to the scene to put out the blaze.
