Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport
At least five people lost their lives in a tragic accident at Miami International Airport (MIA) on Sunday afternoon. An Amazon cargo plane, operated by 21 Air and flying as Flight 7598, overran the runway after landing from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft crashed at around 2 p.m. EDT, causing a complete ground stop at MIA. However, two of its four runways are now open for operations.
Florida Rep. María Elvira Salazar (R) expressed her condolences to the families affected by the tragedy, while Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) also offered his prayers and thanked emergency responders for their service.
