Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport
An Amazon cargo plane crashed at Miami International Airport on September 6, 2026, resulting in five fatalities. The incident occurred when the plane, a 767 freighter operated by 21 Air on behalf of Amazon Air, overran the runway while traveling at approximately 130 miles per hour.
The plane had originated from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and was heading towards its destination when it left the usable portion of the runway. According to officials, three people were in critical condition and taken to a trauma center, while two others were taken to a local hospital.
More than 200 personnel responded to the crash, with both the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigating the incident. The cause of the crash is still unclear as of Sunday evening.
