Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport, Killing Five

A Boeing 767-300 cargo plane operated by Amazon's charter company, 21 Air, crashed at Miami International Airport on Sunday evening. The incident occurred just before 14:00 local time (19:00 GMT) as the plane was attempting to land after departing from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The plane overran the runway and hit several vehicles on the ground, killing five people and seriously injuring five more. Three of those injured are in critical condition, according to Miami Fire Chief Raied Jadallah.

Amazon released a statement saying it is working closely with local authorities to understand what happened and offering condolences to the victims. 'We're heartbroken to learn that five people lost their lives in today's incident at Miami International Airport,' said Kelly Nantel, Amazon's Director of Corporate Global Media Relations.
